Benefits of Membership
Membership of UKNSWP provides a number of benefits:

• An interactive website with downloadable Good Practice Guidelines and other information only privy to members
• A bi-monthly e-newletter on good practice, policy updates and forthcoming events.
• A forum for projects to bring their views on policy into the public arena
• A mechanism for inter-project communication and support
• email and postal notification of meetings, conferences, funding opportunities, opportunities for exchange visits, news reports on sex work and related issues, both national and international
• Advice and support for project staff
• The opportunity for exchange of ideas and expertise amongst projects about any aspect of sex work and sex work interventions.
• Discounted delegate rate at the Annual Conference

Having access to this national network of information, and to international networks, can assist project development and strengthen funding bids.

Types of Membership
All members of the UKNSWP must agree with the aim of the UKNSWP & statement, and are bound by the Memorandum and Articles of the Association of the organisation.

There are three types of UKNSWP membership:

1. Full Membership
   This is open to sex work projects and agencies directly working with sex workers. Full members have voting rights (one vote per member organisation.
2. Associate Membership
   This is open to academics and individuals with expertise in the area of sex work. Associate members have no voting rights.
3. Postgraduate Membership
   To encourage students and early career researchers to become involved in the Network we have created a new category. If applying for this category, please supply the name of your supervisors and University. Postgraduate membership have no voting rights.

Membership fees for 2010/11
Membership fees are reviewed and set annually by the Board of Directors.

Agencies / individuals with limited budgets may apply to the Board of Directors for a discounted rate.

How do I become a member of the UKNSWP?

1. Read the Aims and Statement of the UKNSWP and be clear that you and / or your organisation agree with them.
2. Decide which type of membership you are applying for and fill out the Application Form, members details form and nominated email addresses form.
3. If you are applying for full membership, complete the following:
   1. application form
   2. nominated email contact form
   3. members detail form
   4. any information about the project
4. If you are applying for Associate or Postgraduate Membership complete the appropriate forms.

What happens next?
Once we have received your application form and information, we will process your application. The Board of Directors will view the form and details, once they have confirmed your membership the staff team will write to you to confirm your membership, add your nominated email addresses to the mailing list and send you your membership certificate. Your membership certificate will include your membership number please keep this safe.

Renewing your Membership
Each year you will be asked to renew your membership and to pay your annual subscriptions fees. Each year you must complete the Application Form for either Full Membership or for Associate Membership. Please ensure that you read all the information and that you and/or your  organisation are still in a position to agree with the UKNSWP Aims and Statement.
